I’m Ashley
Hi, I’m Ashley Hoskins, the educator + owner behind Joyful Literacy! With a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, a Master’s in Reading, a Reading Endorsement, and Orton-Gillingham training, I bring a strong foundation in evidence-based literacy instruction.
As a former Kindergarten and Second Grade teacher, I’m passionate about helping children grow into confident, joyful readers through research-based, multisensory learning that makes every session engaging and fun.

At Joyful Literacy, our mission is to ignite joy and confidence in young readers. We believe every child deserves to feel proud, capable, and excited about learning to read. Through nurturing relationships, playful lessons, and research-based instruction, we help children build the skills and self-belief that empower them as lifelong readers
MEET THE TEAM
MISS ASHLEY
Ashley is the founder + owner of Joyful Literacy. After teaching in the classroom for 9 years, she created Joyful Literacy from her deep passion for teaching students how to read by utilizing structured literacy. She believes in multi-sensory, individualized instruction that is rooted in the Orton-Gillingham approach.
When Ashley is not tutoring or running Literacy for Littles classes, she enjoys spending time with her two (soon to be four) kids, husband, and dogs.
MISS ALYSON
Alyson is an educator who is passionate about implementing structured literacy practices to empower young readers. She is currently in her 9th year in education, working as a certified reading specialist. She previously spent 8 years in the classroom teaching 1st and 2nd grades. Her joy is helping children build confidence in themselves!
When she’s not teaching, she loves to read books and spend time with family and friends.
miss EMMA
Emma has been a classroom teacher for two years, teaching both 2nd and 3rd grade. Emma loves helping students build confidence, independence, and a love for learning. She believes every child should feel capable from the start. She’s passionate about early intervention and catching gaps early and supporting each student’s growth. Emma uses a structured literacy approach to teach reading and writing in a clear, step-by-step way.
Outside of school, Emma is excited to be getting married this summer! Life at home is full and fun with her three dogs and 36 chickens, a huge garden, and canning. Fun fact: She’s a third-generation teacher!
